The Bhagavad Gita, also known as the Geetha, is a prominent holy book of Hinduism that originated from the great Indian epic Mahabharata. It vividly describes the war between the Pandavas and the Kauravas on the battlefield of Kuru-kshetra.

In the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna delivers a profound discourse to Arjuna just before the commencement of the war. Krishna, identified as God, imparts Vedic wisdom, which serves as the cornerstone of Hinduism.

The Bhagavad Gita is a profound source of knowledge that elucidates five fundamental truths: Ishvara (The Supreme Lord), Jiva (The Living Entity), Prakruti (The Material Nature), Kala (Eternal Time), and Karma (Activities).

Consisting of 18 chapters and 700 slokas (verses), each chapter in the Bhagavad Gita is considered a yoga, emphasizing the science of individual consciousness attaining communion with the Ultimate consciousness. These chapters comprise specialized yogas that reveal paths to realizing the Ultimate Truth.

The 18 chapters in the Bhagavad Gita are: Arjuna Vishada, Sankhya, Karma, Jnana, Karma Sanyasa, Akshara Bhramaha, Raja Vidhya, Vibhooti, Vishvaroopadarshana, Bhakti, KshetraKshetraVibhagaYoga, GunatrayaVibhaga, Purashottama, Divaasura Sampadhvibhaga, ShraddatrayaVibhaga, and MokshaSanyasa Yogas.
